Sex Therapy is a type of psychotherapy that addresses mental health issues, emotional concerns affecting a person’s sexual function, drive, and/or desire for intimacy.

When you request couple’s counseling we will assume, unless you state otherwise, that your coupled relationship is our client and not an individual. All that we do, all that we will work towards with you, will be predicated upon that assumption.
As the senior clinician in this practice, Dr. Hinman is a family therapist by theory and practice. He is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist through the State of Michigan, which is an additional licensure that he holds above and beyond his licensure as a Professional Counselor. As such, he believes that the family is a system and systems work best when they work together smoothly, with clear goals, cooperation, and with well-defined roles.

Group counseling is a special form of counseling in which a small number of people meet together to help themselves and one another under the guidance of a trained and licensed counselor.
Dr. Hinman is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and has had extensive training and experience at the doctoral level in the supervision of Limited License Counselors (LLCs). As a supervisor he will have an overview of the practitioner’s work to make sure clients are safe and have the best possible service, particularly when working with trainees and newly qualified practitioners.
