For more than a decade, Dr. Hinman has guided individuals, couples, and families toward meaningful growth and healing. His philosophy is rooted in the belief that every person possesses inherent dignity, intelligence, and the capacity for transformation. He partners with clients through education, self-exploration, and empowerment, providing both expertise and compassionate presence along the way.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Hinman is dedicated to advocacy and social justice within the counseling profession, reflecting his lifelong commitment to equality and dignity for all.Beyond his role at the practice, he values time with his wife of more than 38 years, Patty, their family, and their pets. His personal and professional life share the same foundation: fostering resilience, connection, and lasting change.
Beyond logistics, Patty provides something equally important: a reassuring voice and a sense of care during what can be a vulnerable time for clients.Known for her attentiveness and generosity, Patty goes out of her way to brighten days with thoughtful gestures—whether offering encouraging words, preparing snacks for staff, or creating small comforts for clients. She believes that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference, and she carries this philosophy into every interaction at the practice.
Patty has been married to Dr. Brad Hinman for more than 38 years, and together they share a rich family life with two sons, a daughter-in-law, and a lively household that includes a dog, a cat, and three “grand dogs.” Outside of the practice, she enjoys quilting, crocheting, baking, and spending time in her garden. Patty’s dedication to family, creativity, and care for others mirrors the same values she brings to her role at HCS every day.

Ashley believes that every child has a voice worth hearing and is dedicated to providing a safe, supportive space where young clients can express themselves freely. She views her role as both a listener and a bridge, helping children navigate life’s difficulties while empowering families to better understand and support their growth. Her approach is holistic, considering each child’s broader environment—including school, friendships, and family relationships—to foster balance and resilience. Ashley values the principle that therapy is not one-size-fits-all, and she tailors her work to meet the unique needs of each child and family.
At Hinman Counseling Services, Ashley is honored to walk alongside children and their families as they build confidence, develop coping strategies, and move toward healthier, more balanced lives. Her dedication reflects both her professional training and her heartfelt belief in the strength and potential of every child.
Annie works with children ages eleven and older, as well as teens and young adults who may feel overwhelmed, unheard, or uncertain about how to navigate life’s challenges. She creates a safe, supportive environment where young people can express themselves openly, explore their emotions, and discover healthy ways forward.
Her approach is both client-centered and solution-focused, meaning she listens closely and helps each individual identify their strengths, voice, and next steps. Annie believes therapy should be as unique as the person—sometimes reflective, sometimes practical, and at times even creative or fun. At Hinman Counseling Services, Annie partners with clients and families to build resilience, confidence, and stronger connections. She values the courage it takes to begin therapy and considers it an honor to walk alongside each young person on their journey of growth and healing.
His approach to counseling is deeply client-centered, grounded in empathy, respect, and collaboration. He strives to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to explore their stories and strengths. He values the unique perspectives each person brings, including their view of spirituality, and he welcomes the integration of spiritual or faith-based elements into therapy when it aligns with the client’s goals. Whether clients are seeking support for relationship concerns, stress, identity exploration, life transitions, or emotional wellness, Rico walks alongside them with compassion and curiosity as they work toward meaningful and lasting change.
